To make a long (and pretty interesting) story short Steve and I knew eachother for four years before we started dating and lets just say the first while we did not quite see eye to eye. We both have our stories as to why that is :). We began dating in the holidays of 2011 with our first official date being The Red Iguana and Temple Square. Our friendship and love grew strong and we had a lot of awesome adventures!
Proposal...
Steve proposed on top of the Ogden overlook trail at Snowbasin. He is definitely not a person to have sleep deprived and was pretty grumpy that morning as he was up pondering his decision. By the afternoon of our hike he was back to my happy loving man. We hiked to the top and I sent him back to take a picture and totally though we were headed back down. He came up to "show me the picture" and proposed. We had talked a lot about marriage recently and on the way up and I wasn't sure if it was a real proposal so I said yes with some hesitation because I didn't want to make it a big deal if it wasn't real. So then he said "I better do this for real" and he managed to get on one knee on the top of the mountain rocks and make a "for real" proposal. I was so excited! On the hike back down the planning began and from September to March continued at a furious pace.
Wedding...
We were married on March 5th, 2013. It was an amazing day and everything went perfect! (except I forgot my boquet to walk down the isle, but nobody noticed) The day went by quickly but was everything I had imagined and we had so much fun! The night before with the girls and getting ready is a full story of its own. We did letters of vows that we read before and we prayed together. There were lots of photos and dancing of course. The honeymoon started with night one at the Alaskan Inn and then we were off to Lava Hot Springs. It was wonderful.
Marriage....
We have been married for almost nine months and it has been great. We moved from Utah to Virginia shortly after getting married for a great job opportunity I had as well as for Steve to finish school and play football. Some important things we have learned is as we live the gospel things only get better, communication is critical, and you have to serve each other. Marriage has been very natural and has been a huge joy and blessing in both of our lives. We bought our first home, and now we have a little one on the way!
